Launch of the GWS Excellence Awards 2026 – Recognising Outstanding GWS Performance Nationwide

Celebrating Innovation, Leadership, and Community Spirit in the Group Water Scheme Sector

What are the Group Water Scheme Excellence Awards?

Since their emergence in the 1960s, the GWS sector has stood as a powerful example of innovation, leadership, and resilience. While the core mission of delivering, safe clean drinking water to rural communities, has remained constant, the landscape in which schemes operate has evolved significantly.

Through decades of change, GWS committee members and communities have consistently risen to meet new challenges. Their ability to adapt, whether to legislative requirements, operational demands, or environmental pressures, demonstrates an enduring commitment to excellence.

From adopting modern technologies to improving governance and sustainability practices, GWSs continue to lead with vision and determination. Their work not only supports local communities but also strengthens the wider rural infrastructure across the country.

The GWS Excellence Awards provide a valuable opportunity to recognise these achievements and highlight best practice across the sector. The awards celebrate the dedication, innovation, and community spirit that define GWSs nationwide.

This is your chance to showcase the outstanding work happening in your scheme and to gain the recognition it deserves.
