NFGWS Online Training Access

The National Federation of Group Water Schemes (NFGWS), in association with ICOS Skillnet, provides online training options. Course content is designed specifically for busy volunteers and GWS personnel, offering flexible, bite-sized modules that can be completed anytime, anywhere, on PC, tablet, or mobile.

Steps for NFGWS members to access online courses

You will be able to create your own profile on our online training platform, which enables users to complete courses, jump back in at any time and keep a record of what courses you complete. In order to complete specific courses, your group water scheme will need to purchase a unique access code for each learner. These codes can be purchased through our Monaghan office but it is best that one point-of-contact purchases all codes needed for that GWS in one order.

1. Contact your group water scheme
Reach out to your GWS secretary/manager to confirm your interest in completing a course.
2. GWS secretary/manager connects with NFGWS
The GWS secretary/manager should contact Julie Brannigan at the NFGWS Head Office (julie@nfgws.ie).
3. Confirm and purchase
The secretary/manager confirms the number of learners and purchase necessary course access codes.
4. Receive validation codes
Codes will be sent to the GWS email inbox.
5. Distribute codes
The GWS secretary/manager shares the codes with individual learners.
6. Create your account
Each learner sets up an individual trainee account and enters their access code.
7. Complete the course
Work through the modules at your own pace.
8. Get certified
Upon completion, a certificate of completion will be issued directly to the learner.

Each trainee will fill in details for an individual online account, and their certification will be issued in their name upon course completion.
