Course title: Introduction to Group Water Scheme (GWS) Management & Governance
Duration: Approx. 3 hours (self-paced)
Format: Fully online, interactive modules

Overview:
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of managing and governing group water schemes. Designed for all board members and new staff, it combines practical knowledge with regulatory requirements to ensure best practice across all schemes.

Modules include:

  2. The co-operative ethos
  3. Your group water scheme and your role
  4. Understanding water regulations
  5. Funding and finances
  6. Future-proofing your GWS

Aim:

To equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to demonstrate and communicate best practice in group water scheme management and governance.

Access:

To access this course, please contact your scheme's manager or secretary, who can purchase course access codes for the GWS from the NFGWS head office in Monaghan.

Course Fees:

  • €30 per person for GWSs that are affiliated to the NFGWS
  • €100 per person for GWSs not affiliated to the NFGWS

Note: Course fees are eligible for inclusion in GWS subsidy claim.
