Water Safety Planning is now a core responsibility for any water supplier and the NFGWS HACCP based Quality Assurance System training course is essential for any group scheme wishing to develop its own water safety plan. This course was recently reviewed and can be delivered over 3 hours. The course introduces GWS committees and operational staff to the concept of evaluating and addressing risks from source to tap, dealing in some detail with issues such as source protection, verification of treatment systems and distribution network management. It also introduced schemes to the checklists and standard operating procedures that form the basis of Quality Assurance documentation and emphasises the importance of emergency planning. Completion of this course is a condition of the operational subsidy.
