Listen back: World Water Day NFGWS radio special

With the 22nd of March marking World Water Day 2023, Lough Carra Group Water Scheme in County Mayo hosted a very special event, which included a live radio broadcast on Midwest Radio from the treatment plant.

Lough Carra GWS is among the group water schemes participating in the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage; and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine funded integrated source protection planning and mitigation actions project. The live broadcast featured interviews from group water scheme personnel and like-minded organisations involved in the project and in other initiatives that promote good water practices.

Neighbouring national schools were also given tours of the GWS treatment treatment plant as part of the event, with Holy Angels National School Clogher student, Gráinne, among those interviewed on The Tommy Marren Show. To listen back to the shows, visit the Midwest Radio website here and click through to the Wednesday feed. Once there, you can listen both parts of The Tommy Marren Show.
