Listen back: Seán Corrigan chats to Midwest Radio about source protection

‘This project is about working together, it’s about working with the community to help everybody.’

Seán Corrigan, groundwater source protection project lead with the NFGWS, was a guest on Midwest Radio’s ‘Farming Matters’ this week, where he discussed the Drinking Water Source Protection Pilot Project with Peter Comer.

The show aired on Wednesday, 6 December, but you can listen back to the interview below. During the discussion, Seán outlined the work that has been ongoing in Roscommon and Monaghan, and what has been achieved by the local communities to date. He also highlighted upcoming plans, in collaboration with Irish Water, to raise awareness of the dangers of pesticides in drinking water in the Newport catchment in Co Mayo.

Seán and his colleague, Patrick McCabe, will also be giving a webinar presentation on the NFGWS Drinking Water Source Protection Project - Phase 2 as part of the Teasgasc ‘The Signpost Series’ this Friday morning, 8 December, at 9:30am. You can register for the webinar here.
