The National Federation of Group Water Schemes (NFGWS) is the representative organisation for the community-owned group water scheme (GWS) sector in Ireland. Since its establishment in 1998, the Federation has worked in partnership with government departments, local authorities (LAs) and other state and non-state stakeholders to ensure that the services provided by our GWS members achieve the highest standards in terms of water quality and consumer service.

Over 400 group water schemes are NFGWS affiliated members, to whom the Federation provides support services, such as advice, mentoring and training. Operating from the organisation's three regional offices in Monaghan, Tuam and Tullamore, the national organisation is substantiated by a network of county federations and the NFGWS Board of Directors.
